Cookie Policy
This site sets no cookies. There is no consent banner because nothing is stored on your device — not by us, and not by the analytics we use. This page explains why that is allowed, and what we do measure.
The short version
careva.uk sets no cookies of any kind. Nothing is written to your device, so there is nothing for you to accept, refuse or manage, and no banner interrupting you.
We do measure how the site is used, in aggregate, with a provider that works without cookies. We know that the Careers page was read four hundred times last month. We do not know that you read it.
What a cookie is, and when consent is required
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store so it can recognise the same browser later. Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations requires consent before a site stores information on your device, or accesses information already stored there, unless it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.
That duty is triggered by the storing and accessing, not by measurement as such. Because neither we nor our analytics provider store or read anything on your device, no consent is required — and asking for consent we do not need would be noise dressed up as diligence.
What we measure, and how
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless by design. It reports page views, referrers, and broad country and device type.
It assigns no persistent identifier, sets no cookie, and uses no browser fingerprinting. Your IP address is used to derive a country and is then discarded — it is never stored in a form that identifies you, and it is never combined across sites.
There is no cross-site tracking, no advertising network, no tag manager, no session recording and no heat mapping. We could not build a profile of you with what we hold, because there is nothing in it that points at a person.
The legal basis for that
PECR does not apply, for the reason given above. The UK GDPR still does, because handling an IP address is processing personal data even when nothing is retained.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: we have a genuine need to know which pages are read, the processing is limited to aggregate statistics, and it has no material effect on you. If you would rather not be counted at all, any content blocker will stop the script, and the site works exactly the same without it.
Third-party requests this site makes
The analytics script described above is the only file this site loads from anywhere other than careva.uk.
Everything else is served from this domain. The typefaces — Archivo and IBM Plex Mono — are self-hosted here rather than loaded from Google Fonts, so no font provider ever sees your IP address or which page you are reading. Images, styles and icons are likewise served from careva.uk.
There is nothing else: no embedded video, no maps, no chat widget, no social buttons, no comment system.
The enquiry form
The form on the Contact page sets no cookie and does not remember what you typed between visits. Submitting it sends what you wrote to our form-delivery provider, FormSubmit, which forwards it to us by email; what happens to it after that is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every mainstream browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most let you block third-party requests too. Because this site sets nothing, changing those settings will not affect how it works.
If this changes
Adding anything that stores information on your device would require your consent first, and would mean a consent request and an update to this page. If you are reading this and have never been asked for consent on careva.uk, nothing has been added.
