A small practice, on purpose.
Careva works with a small number of organisations at a time. That is a deliberate limit rather than a stage we are trying to grow out of: the value of this kind of work comes from knowing a business well enough to argue with it.
The practice is remote-first and registered in London, drawing on senior associates wherever they are rather than whoever is in the building. People are brought in by specialism, not by headcount. Whoever writes your plan is the person you deal with throughout.
A conventional agency puts an account layer between you and the people doing the work. We do not have one — associates are attached to the work directly, by specialism, for as long as that specialism is needed.
What we hold to
Positioning before publicity
If we cannot say clearly what you stand for, there is no point talking to a journalist about it yet. The first piece of work is nearly always written, not placed.
Fewer, better placements
Coverage volume is the easiest number to inflate and the least useful to report. We would rather place three pieces that reach the right readers.
Say what we would not do
Some briefs do not need a consultancy, and some need a different one. We will tell you that in the first conversation rather than the third invoice.
Written down, not implied
Messaging that lives in one person's head is not messaging. Everything we agree ends up in a document your team can actually use.
Who we tend to suit
Organisations with something specific to say and a reason to get it right: a founder heading into a funding round, a firm whose partners should be published, a board that wants to be ready before an issue breaks.
- Organisations wanting coverage volume reported monthly as the measure of success
- Briefs that need a large in-house team embedded full time
- Anything that depends on saying something we think is not true
